Hi,

well, it's an f4 lens, with the vf brightness that that entails. I
never had a problem with it in daylight on the LX. Perhaps the new
screens, which I've never used, would make it even more friendly. I
always used an SE-20 screen with it.

I've never used an 80-200/2.8 so I can't compare the optical quality,
but I never had any cause to complain about the 70-210/4.

It doesn't have a tripod collar, so use on a monopod may be a bit
strange, but perhaps you & he could rig up something with a bean bag
on top to provide better support.
