I haven't found anyone listing 16 packs. Best prices on 8 packs seem
to be identical to the best price of two 4 packs, at about $8 per 4
pack. (Thomas Distributing has 4 packs at that price, and I know
they're reliable). I'm not sure what Paul's comment of "three dollars
per battery" means ... unless he meant "$3 per set" on the 16 pack or
larger bulk packaging.
Paul, were do you get them in bulk quantities at prices like that?
I do wish I could get CRV3s at the same price ... since they have the
same capacity, it's a convenience for when it's time to load a fresh
set in the camera quickly. The AAs are more general purpose, however,
as I can use them in the flash units or other devices as well.

larger
packages available until today. I may start looking for a good
deal on a
bulk pack - the batteries seem to have a very long shelf life.

I agree with Shel's recommendation. Buying the Energizer
lithiums in bulk, sixteen at a time, I've been able to get them
for as little as three dollars per battery.

While I've not used too many other brands
just a set of Duracells once), plus the original
batteries that came with my first DS, the
Energizer has, indeed, outlasted them both.
At this point, the set in the cameras has made
more than about 1600 exposures and shows no
sign of weakening. I picked up an 8-pack for
about $20.00 recently.
All-in-all, I'm sold on these puppies.
