A while back there was an article in the NY TIMES (maybe as much as a year or two) where someone was giving advice to novice /potential sellers on ebay - actually suggestion they look for pictures of things they were selling elsewhere and link to them! Needless to say, there was a lot of mail sent to the Times about that.
Not that it would necessarily help, but I sign all my displays with my ebay handle - although 99% of the time I'm selling things that almost no one else has listed - and I virtually never sell anything new.
