There's nothing wrong with using clichés. We do it all the time. It's a part
of our cultural inheritance.
Our language is almost nothing but clichés. Any common phrase is a cliché.
With out clichés there would be almost no communication possible.
A cliché photograph may not be of great artistic value.
Most photographs aren't. But that doesn't mean they are of no interest or of
no value.
I could say the same about most paintings as well.
The photograph is kinda boring - mostly because of the rather dull
composition - putting the subject/car/van in the middle is not very pleasing
to me. There's a reddish cast in the sky, wich is not very pleasing to me
either. But this can be changed. But the main statement is still
interesting, I think. So to me it's still an interesting image. Cliché or
not.
I t would be even more interesting in a size where I can read that it's in
fact an ice cream truck on a deserted beach (isn't it ?).

I would not call this image a cliché.

But if it is, would that turn it into a bad photo?
I don't think so. The main thing with an image is that it "works".

Mostly harmless (just plain Norwegian)

Never underestimate the power of stupidity in large crowds
(Very freely after Arthur C. Clarke, or some other clever guy)
