I just wanted to add to this "on a scanner with poor dynamic range."
Like I said before, my neg results are superior for ISO 400 and above using a Polaroid Sprintscan 120. Neg results are total crap from my Epson 3200 flatbed. If you have a good scanner and standardize your process, i.e. get your film processed at the same lab, preferably a consistent one, and use the same film or group of films (the Fuji N series are nice and consistent) the majority of your work only needs to be done once. -Aaron -----Original Message----- From: "Mat Maessen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subj: Re: Neg v Slide Scanning Results Date: Tue Aug 8, 2006 7:55 pm Size: 1K To: "Pentax-Discuss Mail List" <[email protected]> So to get the full dynamic range out of the image, the scanner is working in a relatively small range of light levels coming through the film. That's why it looks grainer. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
