Being honest about it, the cup lettering was fairly crisp, but that comment was a way of making a gentle point about the overall softness. Too subtle, I suppose.
Jack ======= It's none of my business, I suppose. But I didn't understand your comment at all either, Jack. There are several times you have made statements on list I haven't understood at all. Since I am dyslexic, I don't expect everyone to have the same way of expressing themselves. Some are more precise, more literal, and some are more visual oriented and use analogies more. And some are chatty and some are brief. Most of the time I get most people but not all the time. But I remain puzzled, I thought the first photo Shel showed wasn't bad. When Godfrey upped the contrast then I got what you were saying. However, the contrast was too strong in the second photo for me. Makes me wonder what people are seeing in my photos. Or what I am seeing in theirs. I don't expect that much from web page images either. I know they aren't as good as the original photos. Makes me think we are all getting too fussy sometimes. But also makes me think some things, like amount of contrast and color depth, are personal preferences as well. I just wish people would realize misunderstanding scan occur easily on the Net, when voice inflection is gone and it all done by the written word. Misunderstanding occur all the time. Personally, I see no reason for sniping and, frankly, I get tired of the male testosterone on this list sometimes. Snipe here, snipe back, etc. I also get tired sometimes of an elitist attitude toward photos. I am covering everyone here, in my tiredness, not one person or two. :-) Wise cracks get annoying after a while, no matter who makes them. I do this for fun, lots do. Some aspire to more, but I also wish those that do would remember that many of us do this for fun. Trying to turn out the best photos we can, but for fun. Sometimes this list irks the h*ll out of me. That is, when I am not enjoying it. Of course, I may need to calibrate my monitor again, but I think with lots of photos I am seeing what people intended for me to see.
