Coincidentally, I just returned from the local market.  Spring water was
selling for $1.00/gallon.  The local gas stations in town have regular
unleaded @ $2.57 - $2.69 per gallon.  That same gallon (same brand) sells
for $1.35 @ the local high-end organic grocery, still cheaper than
gasoline.  Now, if you're talking about "designer" water, yes, it can be
more expensive than gasoline.  Gasoline will get you further down the road,
however.
