I can't remember tasting water in the bay area. But as I said, I find LA water okay. Not as good as NY or great lakes water, but palatable. Sometimes it's the pipes that deliver it in a particular building that give the water a bad taste. I remember when I was a kid and we went on vacations to inland Wisconsin where well water was the only option. The water was yellow with iron and had a strong flavor.
