One of the Canon SLRs I used to have would play a tune during countdown on the self-timer. You had a choice of Beethoven, Bach or Mozart, as I recall. Silly feature? Yes. Fun? Yes. Harm done? None. You could switch it off, of course. I asked a Canon designer why they had included this feature. "We had room leftover on the chip," was his honest response.
