Thats great, there are times when I need this.

This is also great to hear.  I think it must be because of the higher 
voltage going to the motor.

This sounds like a power issue.  They should allow the wireless flash to 
work when SR is off.  I mean, how often are you going to need SR in 
flash pictures unless they are fill flash type at low shutter speeds 
with a longish lens.

Is this why they were scrambling to finish the firmware?  Will there be 
an October surprise?
