The K10D may give you 500 more pixels. The 645D is another matter. :-)

I'm not saying that this will be the layout of the chip, but consider
the longest side on *istD sensor: 3000 pixels. Divide 18 millions with
3000, and you get approx. 5140.

Still can't compete with T/S movements in large format, of course, but
still has a lot to offer over the K-mount alternatives. Or EF-mount
alternatives, for that matter.

On a completely different track, I think that a outdoor-friendly
MedF-D will actually compete with stitching software when it comes to
landscapes.
