Focal length is focal length. A 100mm lens produces the same field of
view regardless of whether it has a Pentax K-mount or a Pentax 645 or
Pentax 6x7 mount, once it's been adapted to the body. A 100mm lens
will produce the field of view equivalent to a 150mm lens on a 35mm
film SLR body.

They've been around for some time. 645 and 6x7 mount lenses only work
stopped down for metering and framing, and there are restrictions on
metering modes (Manual and Av only).
