To me, "state of the art" means having the most modern technology. And I can't think of any camera that can be considered more up-to-date than the K10D (at the moment).
"High-end" is different. A Rolls Royce is "high-end" because of its no-expense-spared design and construction. But it may not be state-of-the-art.
