This is a call for everyone to just shut the f*ck up about J.C. O'Connell's
ranting and ravings over the aperture simulator. After this post, I will
not contribute to this insanity any further.

He obvously has too thick a skull to understand what is being said to him,
and he doesn't have the patience (or grammatical skills) to try to
communicate in a calm and reasonable manner.

Thus, we all keep going in circles.

There are many things I'd like to try to explain to JCO, but he refuses to
listen. He takes Pentax's removal of the aperture simulator mechanism
personally.

He doesn't understand economics as he likes to believe he does.

He doesn't understand the business of staying alive in the camera industry.

He overestimates his value to Pentax, as well as the value of old lenses and
owners who don't buy new equipment.

He doesn't realize he should be jumping for joy that Pentax supports old
lenses at all, even if not completely. No one else, aside from Nikon, does
this. If a person owned a range of nice lenses in mounts such as Olympus
OM, Yashica, Konica, Minolta MD, Canon FT/FD, Chinon, etc., they're shit out
of luck. Not so with Pentax. This is not something they have to do, but
they do it anyway. He shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, but he
does.

I even took apart an ME Super last night just to see how the aperture
simulator worked. I don't think reintroducing it in a dSLR would be as easy
as JC would like to believe, but I won't be posting my (admittedly
unscientific) findings now. I'm done with this topic, and I hope the rest
of the list sees the futility of trying to be reasonable and logical with
JCO.

Thanks for reading. Now back to your regularly-scheduled insanity.
