This is just silly.  If Pentax redesigns the mount, it will be because 
APS is truly here to stay.  If it is the registration distance will 
change to simplify lens design.  A wider throat would make for larger 
lenses.  It makes no sense based on the current, (and past successful), 
marketing strategies.  But hey what do I know.  Aren't you the guy who's 
always talking about retro focus designs being a problem?
