According to my lens designer friends, the mount diameter for the K- 
mount is just fine for a 16x24mm sensor, it's a bit tight for  
anything larger. Something smaller is likely not as desirable.

The registration distance could be 5mm shorter as that has plenty of  
room for the mirror required and provides more room at the rear of  
the lens design for light-path correcting elements.
