No experience with the Canon scanners. I've been using a (now ancient) Epson 2450 and getting decent results. Flatbed scanners, aside from scanning through glass, usually position the negatives inadequately. There can be problems with Newton rings. I use Doug Fisher's film holder for medium format with the 2450 (see http://www.betterscanning.com/) which does make a difference. I've been thinking of upgrading the 2450 to a 4990 or V700 since I have this 645 here to play with. I'm just not sure yet how much I'll do with it so I'm a little reluctant to spend the money as yet. I'd love a Nikon 8000 but it's pricier than I want to go for. Godfrey -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
