Sorry, Ernest. AFAIK, "the great unwashed" generally means slum-dwellers, those
who worked in the factories and such in London. I think Sir Walter Scott
popularized the term, referring to the artisan class of England.
I thought that you were referring to Muslims, Arabs, or the general population
of the country from which these monsters come from (of course, I know that we
still don't know who's responsible).
If you were referring to the terrorists and their comrades, I think "the great
unwashed" is a pretty mild term! I don't worry about hurting their feelings,
but I do worry about offending those who have no affiliation with them, who may
only share thier country of origin or religion.
