I thoroughly agree. Surely this is the origin of the notion of hell? There
is no earthly punishment that will adequately serve the Hitlers, the Pol
Pots, the Osama bin Ladens of the world.

My admittedly ignorant early prediction is that a lot of Afganistanis are
going to die because of this. The irony is, the majority of them won't be
any more specifically guilty than the Americans who found themselves trapped
in a crowded stairwell yesterday with millions of tons of concrete and steel
descending upon their heads.
