The 200/4 is a nice lens. I used mine for candid portraits of my kids playing, etc and with a reversed 50mm for 2x macro shots. The 300/4 is supposed to be a good compact (for its FL) lens, I declined buying one because the Sigma AF 300/4 had a closer minimum focus. If you want a telephoto lens for reach, obviously the 300mm is the better choice.
