I really dont understand why you would want to
use the older DSLR body when the newer one gives
you nearly everything the old one & more & gives you
better quality pictures. I bet the more you use the
newer better DSLR camera, the less you will want to use
the older one as you get used to the better quality
you will notice the dropoff more in the older one too.
...Secondly, since these cameras
depreciate so rapidly in value, I think the only
way to really get your money's worth out of them
is to use them a lot & as soon as possible. That means if you buy
the new model, USE IT, not waste your time and money
by still fooling around with your old one....I would
dump dump dump these older DSLR cameras ASAP before
the price falls even more on them once I had the newer/better
one in hand.... That's just the way I see it.

I kept one of my *istD cameras. Used it on the shoot I did the other
day. Still works great. I'm quite sure I'll still be using it when
it's five years old. The replacement curve for digital is going to
level off. Improvements will be incremental at some point, perhaps
now. Only time will tell. But all of the *ist cameras are still as
good as they were new. BTW, the one I sold went for $677. Not a bad
return for a three year old camera.
