Of course it depends how greatly you view or depend on having a set. Up until June this year I would happily have spent a great deal on a set. As a result of events in July and August with my wife away a lot on business, I found I watched about half an hour a day. I then decided to watch no television at all for a period. After a fortnight, not only did I not check the TV guide to see what I might be missing, I didn't care. Today, I watch more television than I did, but it's turned on for specific things only and switched off afterwards, unlike the permanent moving wallpaper in many homes. I appreciate that many homes have a wide age range within the house to watch things - but if you get an opportunity, go without TV for a while and see what happens.
