NTSC , I totally agree, but once you switch
to HD, you not only watch more, you WANT to
watch more too.

Of course it depends how greatly you view or depend on having a set. Up
until June this year I would happily have spent a great deal on a set.
As a result of events in July and August with my wife away a lot on
business, I found I watched about half an hour a day. I then decided to
watch no television at all for a period. After a fortnight, not only did
I not check the TV guide to see what I might be missing, I didn't care.
Today, I watch more television than I did, but it's turned on for
specific things only and switched off afterwards, unlike the permanent
moving wallpaper in many homes. I appreciate that many homes have a wide
age range within the house to watch things - but if you get an
opportunity, go without TV for a while and see what happens.
