A vote of confidence for refurb'd Epsons:

The 2200 I have now was an Epson refurb that my former boss got for free
from MediaStreet, in order to demo their Niagara ink bottle system (it's
crap, by the way. Their colors never came out right, and the heads clogged
frequently). Eventually, the store stopped trying to sell the system (only
a couple people bought it, thankfully), but we still had a bunch of ink and
this 2200 sitting around.

So I removed the MediaStreet Niagara system and used the original Epson inks
to clear the heads. I also used a ton of Q-tips soaked in alcohol or
Formula409 (an Epson rep recommended the latter) to clean the heads and
anything else that had ink on it (that MediaStreet shit got EVERYwhere).

Now it works nearly flawlessly.

Moral of this overly-long story: Epson refurbs are cool in my book. :)
