The 1400 looks like a replacement for the 1280 (finally), and the R320
is a replacement for the R220. They're not the UltraChrome inks, but
they'll produce excellent output. In looking around at ICC profiles
for non-manufacturer paper, it seems that the Epson printers offer a
LOT more options. And Epson themselves make a lot of different types
of papers for their printers. I'd go with Epson over Canon for that
reason. I would make sure to use the printer at least once a week
though, unless you want to go through the process of cleaning the
heads.

I've started looking around for a replacement for my Stylus Photo 820,
but I'm on the fence as to whether I should get one that takes
UltraChrome inks, or stick with the consumer-level dye-based inks.
