It's a pretty simple matter. Download the file and copy it to an empty card. Put said card into the camera and turn the camera on while holding the menu(?) button. The camera will ask if you want to update the firmware, and you tell it yes. That's the gist of it. You want to make sure you have a fully charged battery to obviate the possibility of a flat battery interrupting the update.
