I'd try the printer on a different machine to see if it's a printer problem. But you may as well take it back, the store propably has easier access to a computer they can use to test it :-).
I seem to remember there have been similar problems with the Epson printers in the past and the service had to change the print head(s). Hopefully you'll get it back running soon.
