Grace sometimes sleeps in a chair with Willy, my Springer Spaniel. And she pulls him around the house by his hair. She'll sit on him, and of course she hugs him frequently. He sleeps in her room and follows her around when she gets up. They're in love. I'm not sure if he would have been a good match for a child when he was a pup. But in old age, he's a wonderful companion for her. On the other hand, my cute little terrier mutt, Jack, will nip at her if she gets too physical with him. Of course I'm sure he was abused as a pup.
