David,
As I said before, I haven't tested them all under such conditions.
Therefore, what I said about their capability to meter at dim light shoud
better be accepted with a grain of salt... :-)
You have mentioned (ME of some sort,MZ5n,PZ-1p or LX) four VERY different
cameras. Each one of them has its own strong and weak points, naturally.
However, if you consider your own opinion about what do you expect from your
next body, it might be easier to make a decision.
My first step would be a look at the Pentax K-Mount Equipment Page
http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/ ) in order to compare their characteristics
and features. Notice that I mentioned not only features but characteristics
as well, since I don't believe that features alone cam make one camera
better than others. Otherwise, from the four bodies you mentioned, the PZ-1p
would be an obvious choice. Once decided which ones are needed or, at least,
desirable, my next action would be handle them , if possible, to see how
they few at my hands. For instance, people with big hands don't few
confortable with the ME Super and its tiny shutter speed buttons. On the
other hand, pun intended, its difficult for people with small hands to
handheld a PZ-1p for long periods of time. IMO, this kind of experience
cannot be replaced by viewing a photo of a given camera body.
>From the ones you mentioned, IMHO, the MZ-5n --- that I don't have, by the
way --- is the best all arounder; not that it's better than the others.
Best,
Eduardo.
