thanks Godfrey that confirms what I thought. I don't think anything is written to the DNG files in beta 4.1 since the date modified field doesn't change. Lets see what v 1.0 does.
PS I see another forum that binders aren't in v 1.0. Presumably with the new folders - binders become redundant. I do hope that they still offer to burn a binder to an optical disk - I use that for backups since it automates the process by packaging into disc sized chunks complete with the lightroom adjustments.
