I don't understand the fascination with the FA77. They're good lenses, but if you're going to be using a DSLR I feel the DA70 is a better choice. Having worked with both, I prefer the DA70.
The FA43 has no direct equivalent yet for the DSLRs, closest thing for the DSLR format is the FA28/2.8 AL. I wish they'd make a DA28/2 Limited. I was tempted by the FA43 for a bit as I like the size and finish of the lens, but the 40-43mm focal length just seems a bit too 'in between'. It's a little too long for a normal and a little too short for a portrait tele. I was happy to find an FA28 ... it proves a better choice and left money in the budget for a DA50-200. In the end, it's all just equipment. I'm extremely happy with the Pentax kit I've assembled: everything I'm now using suits my needs very well and performs more than satisfactorily. My goal now is to exploit what it can do to best advantage. To which end I really need to be cracking today and tomorrow as I have submission deadlines to meet...
