If I filter out the insults in this post I tend to agree.
There is nothing wrong about the legacy lenses, except a limitation or two.
Why do we assume that the latest toys are the best toys? Because we are told
they are. If I could find affordable classic lenses, I'd buy them without
hesitation.

The irony in this is that while I'm writing this, I can hardly wait until
the 12th this month. That's the day I will push the order button on the
K10D.

You are an [EMAIL PROTECTED] idiot to post such stupid nonsense. I dont
"collect"
ancient lenses
and other "crap", I like to acquire high quality items regardless
of when they were made. What the the item is, is more important than
when it
was made. You seem to have this mental deficiency that if it isnt
brand new, its always crap, and if it is brand new, its always better
than
anything ever made. You dont even know what I own,
except maybe if it isnt less than a year old, to you, it must
be "crap". If you would grow up ( are you 17 or not? ) and
stop acting like photography and high quality photo equipment
was just discovered/invented yesterday you would understand this,
but no you are stuck in your stupid "today is all good, yesterday
all sucked" false mentality. That's not how it is and thats
not how it has ever been, and that not how it will ever be.
Hell, I have some lenses from the 1950's I use on large format
that can give results ( on LF ) better than anything Pentax has ever
made ( they never did LF unfortunately, to bad, SMC LF glass would be
cool ). So much for
your "it's all old crap" theories.

Hardly anyone makes a living with a camera, in fact very
few people using cameras do. For most, photography is a hobby , which
is not to say they dont get into it, some often have
more zeal than than pros do, and dont have the strict limitations of
having
to only do what's profitable ( like having to use APS DSLRS all the time
to
save money on film ).

And who in the F$%# are you to say I cant take a picture to save my
life?
Thats way out of line because you dont know me, or what I have done
photographically
in the last 30+ years ( or does that even matter to you, because I
wasn't using 2007
APS AF DSLR gear at the time?). I would never say something like that
about someone
I dont know, but you, being the moron you are, go ahead and post your
really
stupid shit off the cuff like it doesnt matter if you know what you
are saying is true or not. I dont have a degree in photography but I
have learned a hell of a lot about composition, lighting, techniques
over the years and for you to say that is really outrageously bad. I did
wet darkroom for over 20 years and have now gotten up to speed on
digital/photoshop
in the last few years too. So I would have to say that you are totally
FULL OF SHIT
in making those kind of comments.

You keep saying you dont care what I say but then continue to post
these really dumb and at the same time personally attacking posts about
me so it looks like you
do care or dont you again?. Make up your mind...And P.S. I suggest YOU
learn a little
more about photography and its history and all the gear/techniques ever
made before
you make these incredibly dumb assumptions proving to everyone
you dont have a clue as to what you are talking about when it comes
to quality photographic equipment.

The cost of ownership of any camera is high when all you do is
collect thousands of dollars worth of ancient lenses and other crap,
and can't take a picture to save your life.

For those who make a living with a camera, a DSLR saves a tremendous
amount of money over its useful lifespan.
