My statement came out too strong. My experience is limited.
I should have said _I_ find nothing wrong with the legacy lenses I have
_tried_.
I think the point remains. We tend to uncritically assume that new I better.

This where I'm at as well. I have not had a problem with legacy lenses. In fact, owning legacy lenses, is the main, if not the only reason I had to go with a Pentax DSLR. If I were ever going to start buying a new lens line I would question the entire system/brand at that point.

Unless critical scientifically valid lens tests are done, I have no reason to believe the new lenses are superior optically to older FA lenses (or pre-AF lenses)... and I doubt that anyone can tell what particular model lens, a photograph was taken with, much less the camera body.
