Reviews don't really tell you enough, imo. How can you judge a lens  
without using it?

There's no end to this kind of debate until you obtain a lens and  
have first hand experience with it. If I didn't think the DA14 was a  
damn good lens, I'd have sold it and the Pentax *ist DS, gotten out  
of the system entirely. That's what drove me to Pentax in the first  
place ... I couldn't get a lens of this focal length with decent  
quality for my Canon 10D. The Pentax DS plus DA14 cost me just over  
half what the EF14L alone would have cost and were superior in  
performance.
