At 4PM today I got a call from the photo desk at the NY Times. They
wanted to know if I could shoot an exercise class in West Bloomfield,
Michigan at six. Of course I said yes and ducked out of work early. The
story that the Times will run centers around the fact that this is an
extreme workout, boot-camp style class for men, run by a pretty and
petite blonde woman. Well, I show up for the class, and assemble my
gear to do some test shots (with the pretty and petite blonde of
course). She looks at my camera and says, "I thought all pros used
Canon cameras. My boyfriend has a Canon 5D, and he said that's what all
the pros use." I said, "Well, most of us at the NY Times (roll eyes:-)
are shooting with Pentax now. We get in-body shake reduction and 10
megapixels in a compact camera. It's better for working journalists."
"Oh," said she :-)). Pics of blonde to come:-))).
