Just looking at the press release from
<http://www.pentax.co.jp/english/news/2007/200708.html>

The 645D looks to be solidifying in design spec. Key points of
interest to me:
- ~32Mpixel currently
- compatibility with existing Pentax 645 lenses (all most likely)
- CF and SD card slots (don't chuck out your *ist D CF cards, mateys)

With announcement for a D-FA55mm 645 series standard lens, working
backwards and assuming they will keep the same field of view that the
film 645s had, the new camera will have a sensor of ~32x43 mm
dimensions (a ~1.3x crop of the film format) and will net FoV with
current lenses like this:

f 645D diag 645 diag
35 74.9 89.7
45 61.69 75.5
55 52.0 64.7
75 39.3 49.8
120 25.2 32.4
150 20.3 26.2
200 15.3 19.8

Not too bad a shift, really. Better for the telephoto users, of
course ... It's nice to get a boost in the tele end since medium
format teles are so bulky. I expect to hear that they're coming out
with a new 25-28 mm new lens as well ... 27mm provides an 89.7
diagonal degree field of view for this size sensor and recovers the
wide end for those who prefer it like me.

A Pentax 645D with a 35mm or 25mm lens would be really neat IMO. I
wonder just how many 8x10s I need to sell to pay for it... ;-)
