I think the main problem was one of size. By the way, I really miss my
CF cards, although that's because my SD card reader sucks. It's a 12 in
1 from Addonics, and I have to wiggle the card to get a connection. My
Microtech CF card reader works flawlessly, and it's much faster. I've
never damaged a CF card or connection and can't say I know anyone who
has. Both readers are DVD by the way, so speed is not just a matter of
the connection.

Been using the DS which has an SD. I got you beat :-). With my new computer
there are slots built-in. Four in front. CF, SM, SD, and memory stick.

I stuck the SD card in and then I couldn't get it out. No kidding. And
pushing it didn't seem to make it pop out either. And there was no button to
make
it pop out. I thought I might have to leave it there forever. Got some
tweezers and tugged and tugged (worried they might make indentation in the
card).
But, nope, came out okay. I am now ready to rip that section out and put in a
second HD instead. I am back to using the Belkin four-in-one card reader that
I have that I bought cheap. It has been easy to use and is very reliable.

Well, just goes to prove new and fancier and more expensive isn't always
better. But we already knew that, didn't we?
