My vivitar 285 is at least 15 years old and it's triggewr
voltage is also only 6 VDC. they changed it a long long time ago.
Its so easy to check, just put a dc voltmeter acroos the foot
contacts when fully charged.

I have used my "old" 285HV with the 20D & *istDS without any problems.
I know about the voltage thing so I do it sparingly. A newer 285 with a
lower voltage is good news.
