Some cameras are faster than others for the preflash. I'm one of the 
people who has the eyeblink issue, and from experience, a Canon 1 series 
or Nikon D2 or D200 is fast enough that I won't react fast enough, the 
lower-end models are slower at going from preflash to flash and I've 
blinked by the time the flash fires.
