Hmmmm. I thought the next flash unit I would be might be the Pentax  
AF540FGZ. I've got two Paterson EFlash panels and a Sunpak 383 at  
present, the Pentax flash would net P-TTL, HSS, second curtain sync,  
wireless control, etc.

But $85 for a 285HV and $25 for the remote sensor cord ... I use  
flash infrequently enough that I don't really mind missing most of  
the above. :-)

P-TTL works pretty darn well, Nick, if the built-in flash on the *ist  
DS and K10D are any indication. Where some folks have a difficulty  
with it is that some subjects have an eye-blink reflex that responds  
to the pre-flash and causes closed eyes. Overall, however, the  
exposure control with P-TTL flash units seems very very good.
