this assumes of course you will never use the full frame (much wider capability) of the FA lens....I would never buy a DA over a FA when the performance is a "toss up". I would only buy a DA if it was signifigantly better than the FA on the APS format. jco

I only had a Pentax FA20 once for a very short evaluation and found it to be an excellent performer, better than my Canon 20/2.8. I can't do the same comparison test, but the DA21 has been more than satisfactory. I would pick the DA21 over the FA20 for its compactness, light weight, build quality, and support for the QuickShift focusing feature. It might have a small edge over the FA20 with regard to imaging specifics having to do with the digital sensor.
