John, If you click on the 'play' button at the bottom of the screen, it is a timed auto-display sequence to show one photo at a time for about 6 seconds each, reset and repeat, until you click it again. If you want to step through manually at your own pace, just click the frame to left or right of the one you're looking at and it will advance to that frame and stay there for as long as you want.
