Now you know how it feels to have bought into Canon.
Of course, you don't have to buy a new camera every year, just because they 
make a new one that often.

At some point, a product has to be released tot he market. If the engineers 
couldn't meet the release deadline, even one which gets pushed back 
continuously (it's a habit of theirs, from what I have seen), then they have 
a problem to resolve at the engineering level.
There wasn't enough wrong with the K10 to have warranted another release 
delay.
