No, take it apoart and clean it properly and put it back together if you are going to do anything. If you spray oil into it, I'll guarantee you will get overspray which will find it's way onto stuff you don't want to have oil on, and you will also lose some of the integrity of the lock mechanism, since you will also be lubricating the leg, so there will be less friction between the leg and the clamp.
