They are likely to lose sales if their website doesn't look like a
camera company's website. For that it needs pictures taken by its
customers. People who are not already proficient photographers could
be put off by a website that shows only great photos by well-known or
professional photographers. But if they see that (more or less) normal
people can take good photos with Pentax cameras, I'd say it would
increase the accessibility and appeal of the equipment. I think it's a
good move - better than something gimmicky and it's international &
cheap, unlike American Idol and US prime time television.
