Of course you could live somewhere where a simple allegation would get you tossed into prison for several years with your property confiscated. Sort of like they now do to alleged drug dealers here in the US.
But Marnie is correct. That is the purpose of a court of law, to determine the facts in the case. The judgment actually should be a separate and disconnected venue, but we never got quite that enlightened.
