On 4/4/07, John Celio, discombobulated, unleashed:

>It's not so much what they think, as it is the constant heckling. I've been
>in situations where Canon/Nikon snobs are shooting nearby and kept making
>rude comments or laughing when I pulled out my Pentax. It rolls off my back
>for a little while, but it gets old eventually.

Sad. In the world of TV news, there is no such thing as this sort of
brand snobbery. Whether it is Sony or Panasonic or any make, does not
matter at all. In fact, what tends to happen is that if anyone is
struggling with their kit, others will help out. Sometimes you get a VJ
with a cheaper end camera who is floundering...nobody laughs. We realise
that the industry is changing and that staffers get given what their
employers see fit to give them, and this is usually inadequate. We often
share lights, and have even been known to share a missed shot of a
villain leaving court!
