I bought mine through Amazon.com as they were the first to have a  
confirmed unit to ship me, through 17th Street Photo. Good service  
and a very good price when I got it at $906, complete.

I suspect it's like anything else:

Supply has caught up with demand so vendors can no longer charge a  
premium or MSRP for it. Street pricing at normal discounting now  
rolls into place.
