Because thats MY HONEST BELIEF based on everything I have ever heard in my entire life on the topic. I dont have to know "for sure" to know what I beleive because it seems to me you dont know "for sure" the contrary or do you? You or no one else on this forum has provided me with anything to change that belief based on the 10 years of DVD experience/involvement I have. Regarding those players you just mention, I dont BELIEVE those were meant for distribution in the USA, they would be in the major chains if they were. I believe those are being sold on a gray or black market here, probably intended for those countries where region coding is not peritted by new laws as some other posters have noted. Until I hear otherwise from trusty sources or see them being sold at the major U.S. chains, my belief will not change on the matter. Is that clear enough for you? jco -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tom C Sent: Friday, April 20, 2007 12:09 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: RE: OT - for those of you whohaveDVDequipthatcanplayPALsystemDVD's There are major brand multi-region DVD players like Samsung, JVC, Pioneer, and others that are sold here in the US, not just off-brand Malayasian, Korean, and Chinese imports. I understand your words. However, if you don't know something for sure, i.e., you only think it may be the case, then why strenuously argue the issue? Tom C. >From: "J. C.
