Hi Amita, I definitely wouldn't get it repaired, I would cite the fact that is has this problem in any pending sale however I would indicate what Pentax want to charge. I'm sure their quote is over the top. The unit is probably a little corroded but as it still works I would suggest that a clean and contact treatment by someone who knows what they are doing would likely halt further degradation.
